Welcome

Radford University is celebrating its centennial, 100 years of service to the Commonwealth of Virginia, during which over 60,000 students have become educated RU alumni. To mark its second century of service, RU introduces the Core Curriculum program.

 

The Core Curriculum consists of 43 to 45 semester hours in two areas - University Core and College Core.

University Core A: Core Foundations

The centerpiece of the University Core is a series of four interdisciplinary courses in Core Foundations. These courses synthesize skills in critical thinking, oral and written communications, technology and information literacy, and ethical reasoning.

Core Curriculum requirements may be met through Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Exam Program (CLEP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations as well as dual enrollment and transfer credit.
